Student Labs

Professionalizing Tomorrow’s Talents

UCLouvain’s OpenHub invites you to participate in the Student Labs, an initiative that connects Belgian tech companies with graduating students from around the world.

These young talents will put their skills to work on your projects while benefiting from the expert guidance of our multidisciplinary team.

Why Participate?

  • Boost Your Projects: Take advantage of additional resources to test prototypes or validate innovative concepts, whether they are software, complex hardware prototypes, or other projects, even with limited budget or personnel.

  • Identify Talents: Spot students ready to join your company through immersion in your real-world challenges.

  • Access Unique Resources: Use the OpenHub's cutting-edge infrastructure and benefit from expert knowledge in diverse fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), mechanical manufacturing, and connected devices.

How It Works?

To submit a project, propose your ideas through an online form or by contacting an OpenHub team member.

Projects, lasting from a few weeks to three months, are assigned to teams of 2 to 5 students supervised by the OpenHub, with follow-up tailored to your needs. At the end, a validated report is provided, with the option to establish an NDA to protect your data.

Practical Details

  • Location: Projects primarily take place in-person at the OpenHub facilities (UCLouvain). However, students can visit your premises if the project requires it.

  • Flexibility: Arrangements can be adapted to your needs, including providing specific tools or environments for students.

  • Possible Continuity: If necessary, complex projects can be extended beyond the Student Lab, with support from the OpenHub team.

  • Rates: Our rates are aligned with standard student job compensation in Belgium. You’ll get a detailed quote after submitting your initial project.
